Ronaldo continued his fine form when he bagged a brace and an assist in Portugal’s 3-0 win over Latvia.

Latvia keeper Andris Vanins denied Ronaldo twice in finding the back of the net but he found the breakthrough with four minutes until half-time when Ronaldo nodded in from a Jose Fonte rebound shot that came off the post.

Ronaldo’s second goal came in the 63rd minute when Ricardo Quaresma’s cross took a deflection and the Real Madrid attacker rose highest to nod home the ball.
Ronaldo could have gotten a hat trick four munites latet but played the ball across for Andre Silva to score instead. Silva who started the play by dispossessing defender Kaspars Gorkss, and though the ball was quickly played in to Ronaldo, he spotted his teammate entering the box and supplied the assist.

Ronaldo tops the UEFA World Cup goal scoring chart qualifying with 11 goals, three ahead of Poland’s Robert Lewandowski.

Despite the win Portugal remains three points behind Group B leaders Switzerland , who are still perfect through six games after a 2-0 win at Faroe Islands
