Gary Cahill has given Chelsea a fresh injury concern after missing training ahead of England’s clash with Germany at Wembley tomorrow.

The 31-year-old skipped the session at st George’s Park, having previously been a doubt to even be sent for international duty, but being passed fit by the Blues’ medical team.

Cahill is expected not to feature in the match tomorrow night, and medical staff will keep a track of his progress with the next match against Brazil on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Alvaro Morata has allayed fears that he is injured for the long term after midssing training with Spain as well. The striker revealed that he had a toenail problem, but that he has recovered from the knock.

“I came [to the national team] with a problem in a nail. Yesterday [on Tuesday] a teammate stepped on me. I won’t say who,” Morata said.

“I woke up with some blood. It hurts a lot but that’s it. They removed it and that’s it. I didn’t want anesthesia because I don’t like needles but I regret not having put it on. It hurt a lot but [the problem] is already over.”

Chelsea’s Jay Da Silva, currently on loan at Charlton, was called up to the senior training squad to fill up the numbers this morning for Gareth Southgate’s session.
