Conte and Mourinho
Conte and Mourinho.

Chelsea vs Manchester United is one of those fixtures that no football fan wants to miss.

The two clubs have won 18 Premier League titles between them and have been involved in some incredible matches in the past.

But their clash on February 25 is probably one of the most eagerly anticipated games in recent years.

Not because the two sides are going head-to-head for the title but because the two managers are going head-to-head in a verbal battle.

Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte have been embroiled in a war of words throughout the campaign with things threatening to turn ugly.

Conte dubbed Mourinho a “fake” and a “little man” after the Portuguese boss referred to a match-fixing scandal that the Chelsea manager was cleared of whilst at Siena in 2011.

But it seems that jibe really cut Conte deep.

That’s because, according to the Mirror, he has a plan for Mourinho when he brings his United side to Stamford Bridge.

They claim that Conte “still wants a full-on clash with Jose Mourinho later this month – and Chelsea bosses won’t try to stop him.”

The report says Conte is still “raging” at Mourinho’s match-fixing comments and has “made it clear he plans a confrontation at the Premier League fixture.”

Quite what this “confrontation” involves in unknown but it’s certainly going to be very interesting.

Meanwhile, the Mirror also claim that “Mourinho would relish a showdown and plans to be a visible presence before and after the game.”

Of course, it’s not just this season that Conte and Mourinho have clashed.

Mourinho was angered with Conte’s jubilant celebrations during Chelsea’s 4-0 victory over United back in October 2016 and wasn’t afraid to let him know.

While the battle on the pitch is set to be intriguing during the fixture, the battle between Conte and Mourinho on the touchline could be even more fascinating.
