Antonio Conte, Roman Abramovich Chelsea FC

Roman Abramovich reveals that he will ignore Chelsea player’s opinion in regarding Blues manager Antonio Conte future.

The Italian is under mounting pressure after back-to-back defeats against Bournemouth and Watford, shipping seven goals across the two games, and has been sucked back into the top-four battle.

According to The Telegraph claiming that former previous coaches like Luiz Felipe Scolari, Andre Villas-Boas and, to a lesser extent, Jose Mourinho, at the end of his second spell, became victims of player dissatisfaction at Stamford Bridge.

But with the club legends such as John Terry, Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and Petr Cech all gone, along with Branislav Ivanovic, it is understood that none of the current squad has a direct line to the Russian billionaire.

Abramovich has visited the training ground to speak with Conte during difficult periods in the past and will deal directly with him, director Marina Granovskaia and the rest of the Chelsea board, rather than players.

Chelsea owner ready to Conte and his players a chance to lift themselves out of their difficult situation first against West Brom next coming Monday and FA Cup tie to Hull City before all-important Champions League round of 16 first-leg clash with Barcelona at Stamford Bridge.

Former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is the favourite to succeed the Italian if he eventually leaves the Premier League holders, while ex-Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel and Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri are also on Chelsea’s short list.
